Jungle Treks in Bukit Lawang

Trekking in the jungle of Bukit Lawang is a unique experience; whether you stroll through the lush green for a couple of hours, stay for one night at the river bank or you adventure into the depth of the forest on a 7-day hike.

We offer trek packages which include the trek of your choice, transport from and to Medan (around 3h) or Kuala Namu Airport (around 5h) to Bukit Lawang by air-conditioned private car and two nights including breakfast in one of our partner guesthouses.

Moreover, we offer a variety of other activities, for example cooking classes, handicraft workshops, BBQ at Landak River, rafting trips to Bohorok and tubing on Bohorok River in Bukit Lawang.

A guided tour around Bukit Lawang to experience local life and work, for example local brown sugar production, traditional bamboo mat weaving, rice fields and bat cave.

Whitewater Rafting

€80 incl. transport, rafting (ca. 4,5 hours) with crew and equipment, lunch

Whitewater rafting in Kaperas (around 2.5 hours from Bukit Lawang) on Sei Wampu River to Pamah Durian or Bohorok town.

What to bring

Before the trek you can refill your water bottle at our office for free. Since we are caring for our environment, we are not selling plastic water bottles. We will explain everything else you need to know about the trek when we meet you in Bukit Lawang.

Please bring the following gear to your trek

small backpack

hiking boots or a strong pair of trainers, flip-flops

cloth to change for the night

swimwear

torch or headlight

medical kit (mosquito repellent, sunscreen, etc., any medicine of your own needs)

What we provide

campsite with tent, mattresses, mosquito nets, sleeping bags

life jackets and helmets if rafting conditions call for it
